2nd SOLO Exhibition
Natalie’s second solo exhibition at a local cafe in Sheung Wan (July-August 2018) featured her series of nostalgic Hong Kong buildings. She loves to find hidden gems amidst Hong Kong’s urban jungle and explore the rich heritage of the city. In the face of globalization and shifting trends, she hopes to encourage others to treasure cultural history, rediscover traditional craftsmanship and rekindle the close-knit neighbourhood sense of community.
“Next Stop, Your Dreams” is an exhibition inspired by the never ending journey of growth through achievements and setbacks encountered to reach our dreams. The artworks exhibited are at times sentimental, at times whimsical implying that our dreams can be either practical or full of imagination.
Unknown to us, our dreams may already be fulfilled. Perhaps we can develop a new appreciation of our everyday blessings. Using the idea of a subway as a metaphor for our progress on the journey, each station represents a milestone in our dream. The subway is also a destination that intersects many people’s lives together and is the vibrant heart of the city. Sharing your journey with others is a big contributor for personal growth yet at the same time we must learn to uphold our individual beliefs despite differences.
This exhibition is a colourful message of hope and encouragement. A small reminder to smile and keep going.
